About Neonlife

Tip Add an outer glow in the same color as the letters: the parallel lines read as lit tubes with no other effects.

The Neonlife font recalls the lit signs of the last century: cinema marquees, casino fronts, late-night diners. Use it for a bar or club logo, a cocktail menu header, a nightlife flyer or a sign mockup for a client.

Neonlife has six weights: Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Semibold and Bold. It works on a dark background, where light colors read as lit tubes, and the weights let you choose how thick the tube is.

The specimens show “Neon” in lime and “Life” in white over a magenta glow, “Neon Show” in yellow and orange on a brick wall, and a navy stationery set with a letterhead, business cards and a brochure.

To get the neon look, use light, saturated colors on a dark ground: lime, pink, yellow, cyan, white. Keep the line short, because each letter is drawn with several lines and a long sentence gets busy. The full product comes with bonus neon effect styles for Illustrator and a Photoshop sample file.

Bold suits a large sign and Regular a menu header. The free file is Thin, whose lines sit very close together, so test it large.

Bulblamp is the layered option when a sign needs bulbs and shadows as well as light.
